Frequently asked questions
What laser do you use?
We use three devices: the picosecond Modestic™ Pico laser, the nanosecond Modestic™ Ultra, and the nanosecond Modestic™ Edge with a very short pulse. The laser type and treatment parameters are chosen individually — after consultation, based on the type of pigment, its depth, and the condition of the skin. There's no single universal device that works in every case — what matters is choosing the right tool for the specific treatment.
How many sessions will I need?
It's highly individual. Permanent-makeup brow removal usually takes 2–4 sessions; a tattoo, 6 to 10. We set a detailed treatment plan during the consultation, after assessing the pigment and skin.
Does the treatment hurt?
It isn't the most pleasant procedure — during the laser's work you feel a burning, stinging sensation, similar to being snapped with a thin rubber band. The sensation is very brief, however, and thanks to active skin cooling most clients find it perfectly tolerable. One session usually takes just a few minutes — a moment of discomfort that's easy to get through.
Will there be scars or discoloration?
With the right device and parameters — no. The skin isn't broken, and there's no bleeding or scabbing. That's why it's so important that the treatment be done by an experienced specialist with the right equipment.
How long between sessions?
We recommend 30–45 days between sessions. The skin needs that time to regenerate and fully absorb the shattered pigment — shorter breaks don't speed up the effect and can delay the whole treatment process.
How does the skin look afterwards?
Right after the treatment you'll see slight redness and mild swelling — they subside on their own within 1–2 hours. You can return to normal activities without a break; no time off needed.
How long does one treatment take?
Permanent-makeup removal usually takes 2–3 minutes. A single session for a medium-sized tattoo takes about 5 minutes. The procedure itself is short; the full visit including consultation and skin prep is about 30 minutes.
What are the contraindications?
The main contraindications include:
- pregnancy and breastfeeding
- recent tan (including from a solarium)
- active skin conditions at the treatment site
- uncontrolled diabetes
- blood-clotting disorders
- skin cancers
- photosensitizing medications
Not sure? During the pre-treatment consultation we'll assess whether the treatment is safe for you.
