What the consultation is
The consultation is a free, no-obligation in-person meeting at the clinic where we assess the tattoo and skin, discuss your expectations, and plan the treatment course together. There is no sales pressure — if your tattoo will be difficult to remove, we say so plainly.
Why is it free? Because an accurate quote and treatment plan require seeing the tattoo. Quoting by phone or online without a visual assessment is guesswork — and is not in either party's interest. We cover the full process in our guide on how to remove a tattoo.
What we assess at the consultation
The consultation covers several elements:
- Tattoo assessment: colours, ink density, number of layers (whether it is a cover-up), age of the tattoo, degree of natural fading.
- Skin assessment: skin phototype (darker skin requires greater caution when selecting laser parameters), any skin conditions in or around the tattoo.
- Treatment goal: complete removal, lightening for a cover-up, removal of only a selected part of the design.
- Test spot: in some cases — especially with difficult colours or sensitive skin — we carry out a test on a small part of the tattoo to see how the skin responds.
What you get from the consultation
After the consultation you leave with a concrete plan:
- Estimated number of sessions — we do not promise a single number when we cannot guarantee it. We give a realistic range.
- Gaps between sessions — typically around 8 weeks, to give the body time to clear the shattered ink.
- Estimated total cost — based on current pricing and an assessment of the tattoo's complexity.
- An honest difficulty assessment — if your tattoo has colours that respond less well to the laser, or is a cover-up with multiple layers, we say so before the first session.
- Answers to all your questions — you have time to ask without pressure.
We cover what affects the final cost in more detail in our guide on tattoo removal cost in Warsaw.
“I didn't even have the treatment yet, but I came away with a huge amount of knowledge.”
How to prepare for the consultation
There are no special requirements — just come dressed so that the tattoo is accessible for assessment (loose clothing if the tattoo is in a hard-to-reach location). A few things worth bearing in mind:
- Photos from when the tattoo was fresh — if you have them, bring them or send them in advance. They help assess how much natural fading has already occurred and how dense the original ink was.
- A list of questions — if you have concerns about safety, the number of sessions or aftercare, write them down beforehand. There is time for them at the consultation.
- No tanning — if you are planning a consultation in summer, avoid intensive tanning of the tattoo beforehand — tanned areas are harder to assess and harder to treat.
How to choose a clinic you can trust — we cover that in a separate guide: choosing a tattoo removal clinic in Warsaw.
