It's the most common question, and unfortunately there's no single answer. The number of sessions depends mainly on the age of the tattoo and the type of ink. Realistically: tattoo removal is usually 8–12 sessions every 8 weeks or so — the whole course can exceed a year, though a single treatment itself lasts under a minute. Here's where those differences come from.

Frequently asked questions

How many sessions does it take to remove a tattoo?+
As a standard we plan for 8–12 sessions, though some tattoos clear faster and others need more. We assess the exact number after looking at the tattoo and running a test.
How often are the sessions?+
Usually every 8 weeks or so. The body needs that time to carry away the shattered ink, and the skin needs it to regenerate.
How long does the whole process take?+
Once you add up the sessions and the gaps, a full course can exceed 12 months. That's the natural pace and it can't be safely shortened.
How long does one treatment last?+
Very short — passing the laser over a smaller tattoo takes under a minute. Most of the visit is preparation, cooling the skin and dressing.
Can removal be sped up with shorter gaps?+
No. Shortening the gaps doesn't speed up the result; it burdens the skin and raises the risk. The roughly 8-week gap is part of effectiveness and safety.
