What affects the cost of PMU removal
There's no single rate for "removing permanent makeup". Four key factors combine to determine the cost:
- The area treated. Eyebrows, lips and eyeliner are different — different size, skin thickness, risk profile and equipment needed. The eye area requires additional protection; lips tend to be more sensitive. All of this affects session time and pricing.
- The type of pigment. PMU isn't one product. Pigments vary in composition, implantation depth and how they react to the laser. Some — especially light, mixed and skin-toned pigments — can paradoxically darken under the laser, which makes a test spot mandatory before a full treatment. Dark pigments clear most easily; light, mixed and compound pigments are harder.
- The age of the makeup. Older pigment has already been partially broken down by the body. Freshly pigmented PMU may need more sessions.
- Your goal. Full removal to zero needs more sessions than lightening before new permanent makeup. We agree on the goal together at the consultation.
Eyebrows, lips, eyeliner — how pricing differs
Each area has its own considerations and typically calls for a different approach:
- Eyebrows are the most common case and relatively predictable. The area is limited and how the pigment will respond is usually assessable after a test spot. Full details in the guide on permanent eyebrow makeup removal.
- Lips call for extra caution — lip pigments often contain iron oxides that can darken under the laser. A test spot is mandatory. Details in the guide on permanent lip makeup removal.
- Eyeliner is an advanced procedure due to the proximity of the eyes. It requires appropriate eye shields and experience in this area. More in the guide on permanent eyeliner removal.
If you're removing PMU from several areas at once, we quote the whole plan together and build a combined schedule.
One session vs the whole course — what you're really paying for
Removing permanent makeup typically takes 3–4 sessions spaced 6–8 weeks apart. The gaps are essential — between sessions the body clears the shattered pigment on its own. Rushing doesn't work; shortening the intervals actually weakens the results.
When looking at pricing, it's worth thinking about the cost of the whole course rather than a single session. An effective treatment that wraps up in 3 sessions costs less than a weaker one stretched across 6. We go over session prices and the indicative total at the free consultation.
Why we don't quote prices over the phone
Without looking at the pigment, the answer would be guesswork — and probably wrong. At the free consultation we assess the colour, depth and type of pigment, perform a test spot if needed, and only then give an honest quote: a price per session and an indicative total for the whole plan. No obligation.
- A pigment assessment — colour, depth, type of pigment.
- An estimated number of sessions and the gaps between them.
- A price per session and an indicative cost for the whole course.
- Clarity on whether you need full removal or lightening is enough.
Current starting rates are on the pricing page. The specific figure for your PMU is discussed in person.

How to plan your budget
Since sessions are 6–8 weeks apart, the cost naturally spreads over several months — which makes budgeting easier. It also helps to clarify from the start whether your goal is full removal or lightening before new PMU, since that clearly affects the number of sessions.
The simplest first step is a free consultation — without it, any figure is just an estimate.
