A neck tattoo often carries strong personal significance — and sometimes that significance changes. Laser removal is a realistic option, and the neck's physiology is actually favourable for treatment. Here is what to know before the first session.

Frequently asked questions

Is neck tattoo removal safe?+
Yes. The picosecond laser is precisely calibrated to be absorbed by pigment, not by blood vessels or neck tissue. The neck's excellent vascularity supports healing, and the procedure carries no specific risks compared with other locations.
How many sessions does neck tattoo removal take?+
For standard black or grey tattoos, typically 8–12 sessions spaced around 8 weeks apart. Coloured or densely saturated tattoos may need more. We draw up an individual plan at the consultation.
Does neck tattoo removal hurt more than other areas?+
The skin on the neck is sensitive, but the discomfort is comparable to other sensitive areas. We apply a topical anaesthetic cream before treatment, which significantly improves comfort.
Do I need to cover my neck after a treatment session?+
There is no requirement to cover the neck, but for the first few days after a session avoid clothing and accessories that rub against the skin. SPF 50+ sun protection is mandatory throughout the entire course of treatment.
Does a tattoo behind the ear clear the same way as one on the neck?+
Yes — the area behind the ear is well-vascularised with thin skin and responds to removal in much the same way as other parts of the neck. Treatment proceeds as standard and the number of sessions falls within the typical range.
